Descripció
Sumari:This research addresses the incidence of parental absence on the socio emotional development of students of Basic General Education, a problem that is increasingly visible in the Ecuadorian school context. It was evident that factors such as migration, abandonment, divorce or the long working hours of parents generate affective voids that affect the emotional well-being and academic performance of children. Using a mixed-approach methodology, observation sheets, interviews and surveys were applied to teachers, parents and students, which allowed identifying signs of sadness, withdrawal, low self-esteem and school demotivation in students with little family accompaniment. As a result of this analysis, a Procedure Manual was designed for parents and teachers, with clear guidelines for the emotional and educational support of students in situations of parental absence. This proposal seeks to strengthen the school-home bond and promote inclusive, affective and resilient environments that favor the integral development of the child. It is concluded that joint work between family and educational institution is essential to mitigate the effects of this reality and guarantee quality education.
