Description
Résumé:Post-pandemic journalistic security has been disrupted by a new social phenomenon in Ecuador, organized crime. This work reveals the types of violence that journalists face, such as threats, verbal and physical attacks. And it exposes the shortcomings of a system that, in addition to lacking a budget, imposes weak and non-guaranteeing legal instruments to ensure the lives and safety of journalists. The need to create public policies from the State to protect the integrity of journalists is put into consideration, as well as the imperative urgency for the media to take sides and train their reporting teams in matters of security, give them instruments to safeguard its integrity and urgently implement protocols.
