El texto realiza una breve conceptualización histórica de PAV en Ecuador, y brinda una comprensión de la violencia y de los aportes de estas propuestas para el logro de una cultura de paz. Se detallan, complementariamente, los distintos elementos de la metodología PAV (afirmación, escucha y comunicación asertiva, construcción cooperativa, creación de comunidad) y, en particular, del poder transformador que integra cada uno de ellos.
