Images to rethink Latin American cities. Reflections on the postcards from Quito

The image of cities constitutes a field of disputes in defining the representation of the qualities that are considered significant in different scenarios. In the case of Quito, geography and history have been essential in building the image of a city that possesses unique characteristics, which has strengthened its tourist vocation imagined since the early twentieth century. The article presents a visibility exercise of social inequalities that compose the history of Quito, and by extension Latin American cities, through postcards that resulted from a photo-ethnographic work.
