El objetivo principal no es discutir la calidad de los materiales producidos, sino reflexionar, desde la naturaleza de este tipo de medio de comunicación y sus características, cómo este acontecimiento, presente en un contexto más amplio, fue abordado por estos vehículos semanales. Se intenta problematizar sobre el “compuesto informativo” construido por estas newsmagazines brasileñas para un gran acontecimiento y, al mismo tiempo, analizar cómo, por su quehacer, esas revistas están ellas mismas en un constante acontecer, comportándose de una manera particular en sus coberturas sobre las muertes de personas públicas.O presente texto realiza uma reflexão acerca da cobertura da morte do ex-presidente venezuelano Hugo Chávez em quatro das principais revistas semanais de informação brasileiras (CartaCapital, Época, IstoÉ e Veja). Menos que julgar a cobertura realizada sobre a morte de Hugo Chávez nas revistas, pretende refletir, a partir dessas mídias e suas marcas, como tal acontecimento, presente num contexto midiático mais amplo, foi abordado por esses veículos.
