In this context, the links established between migration networks outline new diasporic spaces in which information and communication circuits are supported (Retis , 2008). |

In this context, the links established between migration networks outline new diasporic spaces in which information and communication circuits are supported (Retis , 2008).Este trabajo pretende esbozar líneas de reflexión que hemos ido hilvanando a partir de trabajos cualitativos sobre el rol de los medios en los procesos de estratificación social en el contexto migratorio de los latinoamericanos en Europa y Norteamérica. Argumentamos que para analizar y comprender las prácticas comunicativas de las diásporas latinoamericanas es preciso construir aproximaciones interdisciplinarias que permitan armar una mirada comprensiva y crítica (Retis, 2013a, 2011, 2006). Los procesos de globalización económica demandan replantearse la tradicional forma de observar las sociedades nacionales al convertirlas en sistema de redes (Castells, 2006) que han dado lugar a la desterritorialización de la vida social, transformando sus dimensiones culturales (Appadurai, 1997) y reconfigurando nodos en el marco de las ciudades globales (Sassen, 2001). En este contexto, los lazos establecidos entre y por las redes migratorias bosquejan nuevos espacios diaspóricos en los que se apoyan los circuitos de comunicación e información (Retis, 2008).Este trabalho tem como objetivo traçar linhas de investigação a partir de estudos qualitativos sobre o papel da mídia no processo de estratificação social no contexto da imigração latino-americana na Europa e na América do Norte. Argumenta -se que para analisar e compreender as práticas comunicativas da diáspora latino-americana é necessário construir abordagens interdisciplinares para estruturar um olhar abrangente e crítica ( Retis , 2013a , 2011, 2006) . Os processos de globalização econômica precisam repensar a forma tradicional de observar sociedades nacionais para lhes tornar redes de sistemas ( Castells, 2006 ), que levaram à desterritorialização da vida social , transformando as suas dimensões culturais ( Appadurai , 1997) e reconfigurar os nós no contexto de cidades globais ( Sassen , 2001 ) .
