Se trata de explorar y explotar el dato de que la región sintetiza una colocación estructural que la habilita como punto desde el cual llevar a cabo una reinterpretación no eurocéntrica de la historia del mundo e impulsar el desmontaje de los mecanismos de la occidentalización compulsiva a los que este mundo fue sometido tras la integración de América a la geografía planetaria. Resulta factible, por consiguiente, desde esta parte del globo plantear una nueva comunicación alter(n)ativa, primero en el plano epistemológico- teórico y luego en el de la praxis.Ao assinalar que América Latina se constitui em locus distinto para a Comunicação não se pretende materializar uma espécie de privilégio epistêmico para este territorio. Trata-se de explorar o fato de que a região sintetiza uma condição estrutural que a habilita como ponto desde o qual se pode proceder a uma reinterpretação não eurocêntrica da história do mundo visando impulsionar o desmonte de mecanismos da ocidentalização compulsiva aos quais estivemos submetidos após a integração da América à geografía planetária.
