Ամփոփում: | This article focuses on the problems stemming from the free trade agreements and their consequences on Indigenous peoples. Three issues are analyzed: the dispute over the control of biodiversity, the Rights of Indigenous peoples, and the construction of a debate agenda. The author posits that the US free trade agreements are part of a hegemonic politics which is based on the establishment of a global order and the control of energy sources. In this context the Amazon Basin appears as one of the most interesting areas for the transnationalization of capital. |
