Izvleček:The resurgence of actions related to South-South Cooperation on the agendas of the States in the Global South, calls for a detailed analysis of its nature, scope and effectiveness, in the search for the creation of a New World Order, based on symmetrical relations between States. Thus, the composition of new blocks of power in global geopolitics, allow the structural transformation of the international system, promoting new forms of regionalism, with medium size powers commanding actions and South-South Cooperation being the engine that drives them. Many challenges arise in this process; therefore, it is necessary to characterize the actions of South-South Cooperation as a plausible alternative to North-South Cooperation. A preliminary assessment of the role of Ecuador in MINUSTAH, may allow different sorts of evaluation regarding the characteristics of a new form of South-South Cooperation.
