According to the author, the pace of the negotiations have eroded for the Ecuadorian negotiators, mostly because of the inflexibility of the US positions. Two scenarios are envisioned: either Ecuador could decide to stop the negotiation process or the US could continue the negotiations by adopting a more flexible stance, which would facilitate the signing of the agreement. |
