De acuerdo con el autor, en el sector agrícola, manejado como tema sensible y relevante por parte de los negociadores ecuatorianos, el ritmo de negociación ha sido desgastante para la parte ecuatoriana debido, entre otras razones, a la inflexibilidad mostrada hasta el momento por parte de los negociadores norteamericanos.
