| Streszczenie: | In Ecuador, statistics on people with disabilities are diverse; the data indicated in the studies carried out by CONADIS,INEC, with the participation of the Central University of Ecuador, show that the population with disability is 13.2%(Current Situation of Disabilities in Ecuador, 2000) and 12,14 % (Disability in Figures, 2004); Other studies indicate5.6% (INEC, 2010), the study of the Solidarity Mission Manuela Espejo identifies 294,803 people with disabilities;figures that are inconsistent or comparable to each other because there are differences in the conception of disabilityunderlying each study and in the methodology used to determine the presence of disability. As for higher education,in 2014, at the national level, 4,693 students with disabilities and 171 in the UCE were enrolled in all universities; in2015, 4,518 students with disabilities and 201 in the UCE were enrolled in all universities (CONADIS, 2017).
