Collective political actions in Ecuador: How were the 18 days of social demonstrations in June 2022 experienced?

The following article reviews central elements (key elements) to understand the social mobilization of June 2022, the responses generated from the Executive in the context of the plurinational, intercultural, secular State, and the characteristics that place it as the longest wave of protests of recent democratic history in Ecuador. The objective (the main purpose) of this article is to analyse the collective political actions carried out during the 18 days of June 2022 in response to State actions. Methodologically, the information has been constructed and analyzed: a) From the ethnographic level, with participant observation carried out in the places of concentration of the protests and refuge of the people who were gathered , b) from the collection of information in the media communication for the analysis of the mobilizations and their content and, c) based on the bibliographic review and theoretical basis in relation to the concepts of collective political action, social movements, state repression. A reflection (thought) is carried out from the most visible elements day by day of the mobilization, the review of the socio-cultural anchors of the process that are compared with the information gathered in the media and, with that constructed from the ethnographic work.
