Objective: To determine obstetric risk factors associated with maternal mortality in patients at the Cebadas Health Center, Chimborazo, Ecuador, during the period August 2021-January 2022. Methodology: A mixed research was used due to the use of qualitative and quantitative elements during the process. Fifty clinical histories of pregnant women who were in the third trimester of gestation and gave birth during the period were analyzed. Results: 46 % of the pregnant women were minors, 72% had labor risk, 40% had a higher rate of multiparity, with previous pregnancies of more than three children, 40% did not attend prenatal check-ups, the main pathologies that put the life of the mother and baby at risk were: hemorrhages 48%, infections 32% and hypertensive disorders (pre-eclampsia-eclampsia) 20%. Finally, no cases of maternal death were reported Conclusions:  According to the application of David Leyva and Morganov Heredia's techniques, a comprehensive action plan was developed in order to contribute to the reduction of obstetric risk factors associated with maternal mortality.
