Traditionally, studies explain the closure of a business through its own variables. Contributions such as those of Sepúlveda and Reina (2016) or Bermúdez and Bravo (2019) show that variables such as indebtedness, reinvestment, leverage, among others, can be determinants of the closure of ventures. |

Se busca encontrar qué variables pueden influir significativamente en este cierre, desde un enfoque individual, centrado en las personas que cuentan con negocio propio o familiar en la región. Estudios que busquen explicar las incidencias en la probabilidad de cierre de un negocio con enfoque en el individuo como gestor de un negocio, son escasos, particularmente en el contexto de la pandemia. Tradicionalmente, los estudios explican el cierre de un negocio mediante variables propias del mismo. Aportes como los de Sepúlveda y Reina (2016) o Bermúdez y Bravo (2019) muestran que variables como el endeudamiento, la reinversión, el apalancamiento, entre otras, pueden ser determinantes del cierre de los emprendimientos.
