Using the Blinder-Oaxaca decomposition with correction for bias, the study shows that there is a negative wage gap of 26.4% between mothers and non-mothers. This research also presents evidence of whether fatherhood affects men's earnings. Unlike the scenario for mothers, there is no penalty for paternity in the salary. However, having children under 6 years old and between 6 and 12 years old does seem to imply a wage penalty of 3.6% and 2.6%, respectively. Unlike mothers, the wage gap between fathers and non-fathers is positive, that is, fathers earn an average 3.4% more than non-fathers. |

Los resultados obtenidos bajo la metodología de ecuaciones mincerianas muestran que existe una penalización por maternidad de 5.7% sobre el salario. La diferencia salarial entre las mujeres no madres y madres es más amplia al considerar los rangos de la edad de los hijos. Las madres con hijos menores a 6 años y con hijos entre 6 a 12 años ganan en promedio 18% y 6% menos, respectivamente. Utilizando la descomposición Blinder-Oaxaca con corrección del sesgo el estudio evidencia que existe una brecha salarial negativa de 26.4% entre mujeres madres y no madres. Esta investigación también muestra evidencia de si la paternidad afecta el ingreso salarial de los hombres. A diferencia del escenario para las madres, no existe penalización por paternidad en el salario. Sin embargo, tener hijos menores a 6 años y entre 6 a 12 años sí parece implicar una penalización salarial de 3.6% y 2.6%, respectivamente.
