Zusammenfassung:It is proposed to account for the ambiguity of the neostructuralism concept when it is analyzed from its essential principles and its own fundamental elements. It reflects on the set of approaches presented by its first authors and a comparison is made with respect to the primary elements present in the structuralist current. It is interesting to observe that under this type of analysis the concept of neostructuralism does not necessarily harmonize (almost in any respect) with the work with the work of Raúl Prebisch and with respect to the work of Sunkel it is observed that it harmonizes moderately only after 1975 with the publication of the work "Peripheral capitalism, crisis and transformation". Therefore, it could be considered that comparatively structuralism and neostructuralism can only be seen as a process of theoretical progress within Latin American thought, under the singularity that Sunkel joined it. It is evident that the theoretical distancing between original structuralism and neo-structuralism caused the displacement of the role that power relations play in the historical formation of peripheral productive structures, in conflict relations, in surplus and in the role of industrialization. as a development strategy. Critical reading allows us to recognize the potential and limitations of the approach of Latin American economic thought with heterodox currents.
