Summary:The advancement of digital technologies has transformed the world in social, political and economic aspects. In this sense, bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies and their operating system based on blockchain technology are the result of a historical process of democratization of digital media and computer development, which opens the doors to a digital economy. The main focus of the research is the development of probabilistic models, with the objective of identifying the explanatory variables that influence the knowledge and willingness to use cryptocurrencies in young people in the urban area of the city of Quito. The results indicate that cryptocurrencies is not a new topic for young people and there is evidence of a high willingness to use this financial asset. However, the level of knowledge about the use of cryptocurrencies is low.
