Omschrijving
Samenvatting:The research aimed to evaluate the application of deficit irrigation in the initial stage of cucumber cultivation. The experiment was carried out on loamy soil. The Humocaro hybrid was used as experimental material. Irrigation was done by drip at two-day intervals. Four irrigation sheets were studied: 100%, 90%, 80% and 70% of the Etc applied in the initial stage of the crop. The treatments were established in a completely randomized block design with four replications. Variables related to irrigation (water consumption and efficient use of water) vegetative (plant height, number of guide and leaves) and production (number of fruits per plant, fruit characteristics and yield) were measured. The results showed show the considerable saving of water and the efficient use of it, water with the application of deficit irrigation. Both the vegetative and production variables did not present a significant difference (p> 0.05) due to the application of deficit irrigation. The data suggests that the 20% reduction of the sheet is where the best performance and highest water use efficiency occurs. No evidence was found to show that the application of deficit irrigation in the initial stage of cucumber affects normal development and production.
