Omschrijving
Samenvatting:The penitentiary system of Latin American countries and especially referring to Ecuador has been characterized by presenting social factors that enhance crime such as: poverty and the creation of criminal groups. These have generated the following problems that disturb the prison system: overcrowding, mega prisons, violence and corruption. Given international concern about the penitentiary crisis in Ecuador, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) carries out a technical visit due to the latent insecurity and uncertainty present in the country. With this report, an interpretation is made of the different recommendations issued by the IACHR and the measures adopted by the Ecuadorian State. Finally, reintegration is taken as the core point that seeks the reintegration of those deprived of liberty in a positive way into society.
