总结:In the 2030 agenda, UN member states agreed to realize various actions to achieve the 17 SDG. In this context, the State of Yucatán, aligned its State Development Plan with 11 Goal, which focuses on sustainable urbanization of latinoamerican cities, it was based on the Transit-Oriented Development model, to prioritize pedestrian spaces, mass transit, and reduce car dependency. This research aimed to examine the urban infraestructure implamantations maked by State of Yucatán, to launch the Va-y-Ven sustainable and friendly metropolitan mobility system. A qualitative research approach was employed, including document review, observation, and interviews with public official. The findings revealed that the urban structure was modified to increase the space allocated for bycicle use and pedestrian walkaways, while reducing space for motor vehicles. Additionally, social programs were implemented to promote cycling and reduce car use. In conclusion, the study demostrates that a city´s public transportation system can facilitate the fluent movement of people but also transform the urban enviroment when established as the primary mode of mobility. This approach poromotes reduce pollution, moderate use of motor vehicles, and enviromental conservation.
