总结: | At the end of 2019 in China, an outbreak caused by a new coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2 was registered in the city of Wuhan. The SARS-CoV-2 virus potentially affects patients with pre-existing diseases such as asthma, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases because it increases the risk of complications producing a higher mortality rate. This review describes the mechanisms and alterations caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection, the conditions and disorders produced at the level of the cardiovascular system, and the effect of drugs used for treatment that could also cause a serious side effect, as in the case of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine. The cardiovascular problems identified by the infection of this virus are related to imbalances of the renin angiotensin aldosterone system, causing arterial hypertension, myocarditis, ischemia’s that led to heart failure and complications in the patient’s health. |
