From a retrospective point of view, it has been the focus of different conflict scenarios, which makes it possible to visualize the main sociolegal actions as a response mechanism of the local populations to the imposed extractivist model. The objective of this paper is to expose the socio-environmental impacts of this project. The approach is retrospective and the methodology used is qualitative, where the review of documents, videos and interviews were crucial. The results reveal scenarios of high conflict and socio-legal actions in relation to the protection of constitutional rights by the local population, who were the main factors of resistance and defense of nature. It is concluded that there is a rupture of the internal social fabric as part of the mining metabolism. |

Desde una mirada retros[1]pectiva ha sido foco de diferentes escenarios de conflictividad, lo que permite visibilizar las principales acciones sociojurídicas como mecanismo de respuesta de las poblaciones locales ante el modelo extractivista impuesto. El objetivo de este artículo es exponer las incidencias socioambientales de dicho proyecto. El enfoque es retrospectivo y la metodo[1]logía utilizada es la cualitativa, en donde la revisión de documentos, videos y entrevistas fueron cruciales. Los resultados entrevén los escenarios de alta conflictividad y acciones sociojurídicas con relación a la protección de derechos constitucionales por parte de la población local como los principales factores de resistencia y defensa de la naturaleza. Se concluye que existe una ruptura del tejido social interno como parte del metabolismo minero.Em 2012, iniciou-se uma nova fase de industrialização mineira, com o projeto mineiro de Mirador a tornar-se o centro das atenções e do debate como o primeiro projeto de grande escala de interesse direto para o governo equatoriano. Em retrospetiva, tem sido o foco de diferentes cenários de conflito, tornando possível tornar visíveis as principais acções sóciolegais como mecanismo de resposta das populações locais ao modelo extractivista imposto. O objetivo deste trabalho é expor os impactos socioambientais deste projeto. A abordagem é retrospetiva e a metodologia utilizada é qualitativa, onde a análise de documentos, vídeos e entrevistas foram fundamentais. Os resultados revelam cenários de grande conflito e ações sócio-jurídicas em relação à proteção dos direitos constitucionais por parte da população local, que foram os principais fatores de resistência e defesa da natureza.
