सारांश: | Introduction: Currently, the situation that afflicts the world due to COVID-19 and its unforeseen consequences have generated a great emotional psychological impact on patients, their families, and professionals related to health. Death from COVID-19 has generated different grief in family members, the degree of it in a sample group is studied. Objective: To identify nursing strategies for coping with grief in relatives of patients who died from COVID-19 in the Parish of Mulalillo, Cantón Salcedo, Province of Cotopaxi. Methods: A quantitative, descriptive, observational field study with a census sample of 30 relatives of patients who died from COVID-19. The sample used was non-probabilistic that meets the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The self-administered questionnaire was the Revised Texas Inventory of Grief, an instrument with 21 items distributed in 2 parts, the first part consisting of 8 items and includes behavior with the past, the second part consisting of 13 items and includes current feelings associated to give you socio-demographics. Results: 70% of the relatives of patients who died from COVID-19 have a high degree of grief, 83.3% in past feelings and 60% in current feelings. Of those surveyed with this degree of mourning, 56.7% correspond to the female sex, the ages with a high degree of mourning are 46 to 60 years with 40% and 66.7% high mourning in months. Conclusions: Family members of patients who died from COVID-19 have a high degree of grief. Nursing strategies are based on NANDA NIC AND NOC. |
