Riassunto:This paper analyses the complex  phenomenon  of  corruption  based  on  an  extrapolation  of  elements  contained  in  the  triangle  of  violence  theory  (direct,  structural  and  cultural  violence),  proposed  by  the  Norwegian  sociologist  Johan  Galtung.  These elements, when applied  to  the  conflict  resolution  theory  to  explain the origin of violence and its manifestations, allow us to understand the institutional and legal roots of corruption. Through a literature review that aims to typify corruption through Galtung's theory, the authors also seek to understand those elements that define the three-dimensional characterization of corruption: direct, structural and cultural corruption. This research intends to contribute to the analysis and implementation of public policy that addresses this complex and multilevel problema.
