Prospective experiences in southern Argentina from a public science and technology institution (2019-2023).

Through the reflection on two foresight experiences carried out by the authors, this paper reports on the questions and particularities that arise when facing this type of exercises in a public Science and Technology organization in Argentina: the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA). The experiences were carried out in the Alto Valle del Río Negro (Neuquén and Río Negro Provinces) and the southwest of the Province of Buenos Aires between 2019 and 2023. Based on the conception of foresight as a discipline that seeks to embrace complexity and generate shared views on the future, what we aim is not to highlight the results of the exercises, but to focus on some of the distinctive characteristics of the process. We conclude that, although there is no single, univocal answer to the question posed, the work carried out by the institution allows us to build a "toolbox" available when faced with the need to carry out this type of study.
