Criminal Ecosystems: Analysis of the Turi Social Rehabilitation Center

At the present time, Ecuador is facing several difficulties, where the most relevant one, due to the diffusion in different media, is insecurity. Thus, this article has focused on analyzing one of its triggers, the prison crisis, which we will consider as a criminal ecosystem, which allows us to have a systemic approach to understand the organization of criminal actors and the complex network that is interwoven between the inside and outside of the criminal ecosystem. For this, the main unit of analysis has been the Centro de Rehabilitación Social Turi (CRS Turi), from a vision that analyzes the territory, the different interdependencies between criminal and non-criminal actors, their environment of coexistence and how this affects the outside.
