Sumario:Uruguay, in Latin America, shares the general characteristics of neocolonial periphery, but presents singularities in historical rhythm and socio-political structure of damping. The article addresses the invariants of the Uruguayan society, its political evolution in the last period, and analyzes the data that arise from the recent electoral result and its interpretation, for the present and future construction of an anti -capitalist left of popular base.
