Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:The quality of the public sphere is a useful indicator of the quality of democracy; indeed it is the diversity and vitality of the public space that will eventually shape both the spread and the strengthening of democracy. The public sphere is fortified by what it gains from associativity, participation, deliberation and the mobilization of civil society. However, it also benefits from the universality of state projects which are vital to the fulfillment of the democratic promise. Here, we see the convergence of forces which belong to both the social-public sphere and the state-public sphere. Taking into account the complexity of these dynamics, the decision to focus on state-public relations as a point of entry into the debate, allows us to discuss the tasks that democracy has yet to tackle.
