The techno party is a weekend ritual that marks a break from daily life (releasing tension, creating a feeling of well-being, etc.) and that roots the participants in the local as they are absorbing European and American culture. |

El surgimiento y desarrollo de este fenómeno están marcados por la influencia del movimiento tecno europeo-norteamericano y es dinamizado por extranjeros que llevan la música al país. Los jóvenes que escuchan tecno y participan en las fiestas provienen de clases altas, y lo utilizan como elemento distintivo y diferenciador con respecto a lo popular, lo cual rechazan.
