The struggle of the Movement in this city has characterized for the revindication of the permanence of the popular sectors in the central areas, in a context where these spaces are being revaluated and, urban development projects targeting the urban renewal with clear neoliberal orientation are being designed. This article, which starts from fieldwork carried out with cooperative housings that make up the organization, presents the dispute for the urban centre between the capital and grassroots organizations paying attention to both, the material fight specifically for high demanded land, and the ideological struggle for legitimacy of the different uses and ways of life in the central spaces. |

Su lucha en esta ciudad se ha caracterizado por la reivindicación de la permanencia de los sectores populares en las áreas centrales, en un contexto de revalorización de los mismos y de desarrollo de proyectos urbanísticos dirigidos a una renovación urbana con clara orientación neoliberal. El presente artículo, que parte de un trabajo de campo en las cooperativas de vivienda que componen la organización, plantea esta disputa por el centro urbano entre el capital y las organizaciones populares prestando atención tanto a la lucha específicamente material por suelos altamente demandados, como a la lucha ideológica por la legitimidad de los distintos usos y formas de vida en los espacios centrales.O Movimento de Ocupantes e Inquilinos (MOI) é atualmente um dos melhores exemplos da reivindicação do direito à cidade em Buenos Aires, assim como da capacidade das organizações populares para criar e recriar o espaço urbano. A sua luta nesta cidade se caracterizou pela reivindicação da permanência dos setores populares nas áreas centrais, em um contexto de revalorização das mesmas e do desenvolvimento de projetos urbanísticos dirigidos a uma renovação urbana com clara orientação neoliberal.
