| Özet: | This article carries out a reinterpretation of the phenomenon known as the Latin American boom taking into account four fundamental writers: Julio Cortázar, Carlos Fuentes, Mario Vargas Llosa and Gabriel García Márquez. It questions from a critical perspective the approach of their central works, most of which are highly subjective. Subsequently, some texts by the Ecuadorian writer Mónica Ojeda are addressed, as a present-day reference of the new Latin American narratives that make visible the violence and injustices within a community considering the geography of the Andes. Methodologically, this article makes use of concepts from philosophy, gender studies and literary criticism, proposing an overcoming of tradition based on the Ecuadorian Andean Gothic and its particularities.
