The consumption of alcoholic beverages in adolescent students from Sangolquí

A problem affecting a considerable youth population is alcohol consumption, which has been increasing in recent years, becoming a common activity in the lives of several people, especially adolescents. This research aims to determine the various factors of alcohol consumption and the causes of alcoholism and to reach the current reason for this behavior in adolescents from the Sangolquí parish. A survey was used to collect the data within which questions focused on aspects of the social, emotional, behavioral, and psychological environment were integrated. The results indicated that the consumption of alcohol in students begins by experiencing new things to adopt a more sociable behavior, which is something very important in this stage of life in the vast majority, but the problem that must be analyzed more deeply and in detail is that population that responded to the survey unfavorably, indicating that they have problems, hence the reason for inappropriate consumption. It is clear that alcoholism is a social problem that adolescents consume for the acceptance of a certain group, family problems, and emotional problems because they feel alone; however, most young people do it for fun together with friends from their environment. This leads to the real reason for this research.
