Objective: to investigate the partisan and electoral dimension of environmental conflicts underestimated by both political and sociological literature. This would contribute to a comprehensive agenda for the study of environmental policies in the region to produce environmental protection and stimulate innovations in environmental governance. Methodology: it proposes a situated, interdisciplinary, and pragmatist theoretical-methodological approach to cases. This approach focused on the coordination of the structure of party and electoral competition, segmented territorially, and the strategies of the actors. Conclusions: it argues that the multi-scale dimension in this complex process must be made explicit and, at the same time, consider the environmentalized characteristics of the structure of social conflict and its impact on partisan and electoral dynamics. Therefore, proposed strategy contemplates the scalar analysis of the political-institutional effects of environmental conflict for the construction of the cases. |

Objetivo: indagar sobre la dimensión partidaria y electoral de los conflictos ambientales subestimada por la literatura tanto politológica como sociológica. Esta contribuiría a una agenda integral para el estudio de las políticas ambientales en la región para producir protección ambiental y estimular innovaciones en la gobernanza ambiental. Metodología: se propone una estrategia teórico-metodológica de abordaje de los casos situada, interdisciplinaria y pragmatista. Este abordaje permite estudiar la coordinación de la estructura de la competencia partidaria y electoral, segmentada territorialmente, y las estrategias de los actores. Conclusiones: se argumenta que hay que explicitar la dimensión multiescalar inherente a este proceso complejo y, a su vez, considerar las características ambientalizadas de la estructura de conflicto social y su impacto en las dinámicas partidistas y electorales.
