| Sumari: | This article aims to make a comparative analysis of the expansion of secondary schooling among the youth and adult population in Argentina and the rest of the world during recent history. To this end, two main indicators are examined from a quantitative perspective between the years 1950-2015: the percentage of subjects aged 25-64 who access secondary school and the percentage of the same age group who manage to finish it. The data from the Argentine territory are first contrasted with those from the entire planet and then classifying the countries according to their region of belonging, their income and the degree of development of capitalist relations. The conclusion reached is that, although the trend towards the expansion of secondary schooling among the youth and adult population in this country is similar to that occurring internationally, its scope is closer to that of countries where capitalism is still in the process of expansion. |
