It is an exploratory and descriptive study, cross-sectional, instrument validation, under the quantitative approach. It was applied at the Salesian Polytechnic University, Cuenca, to a convenience sample of 63 teachers, with an initial questionnaire of 30 questions divided into three categories, the first category on sociodemographic data with 4 questions, the second category on use with 9 questions on a Likert scale (very frequently=5 - never=1) and the third category on perception with 17 questions on a Likert scale (totally agree=5 - totally disagree=1). In the first stage, expert judgment was used to validate the instrument and in the second stage, statistical validation was carried out using Cronbach’s alpha and exploratory factor analysis. We concluded with a reliable and valid instrument of 27 items called CPDUChatGPT, research instrument that can be used by future researchers in this area.

La inteligencia artificial trabaja con grandes cantidades de información convertida en conocimiento. Una de las herramientas posibles es ChatGPT, para el cual actualmente hay una creciente integración en las diferentes actividades del quehacer educativo. El objetivo de esta investigación es validar el cuestionario de percepción docente sobre el uso de ChatGPT en la educación superior. Es un estudio exploratorio y descriptivo, de corte transversal, de validación de instrumento, bajo el enfoque cuantitativo. Se aplicó en la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, Sede Cuenca, a una muestra por conveniencia de 63 docentes, con un cuestionario inicial de 30 preguntas divididas en tres categorías: la primera, sobre datos sociodemográficos (cuatro preguntas); la segunda, sobre el uso de ChatGPT (nueve preguntas); y la tercera, sobre la percepción (diecisiete preguntas). En un primer momento, el juicio de expertos sirvió para la validación del instrumento, y en un segundo momento se realizó la validación estadística utilizando el alfa de Cronbach y el análisis factorial exploratorio. Se concluyó con un instrumento fiable y válido de 27 ítems, denominado CPDUChatGPT, instrumento que a futuro podrá ser utilizado por investigadores en este tema.
