| Summary: | The objective of the present study was to analyze the relationship between social skills and the ability to resolve conflicts in fifth-year students of the “Ricardo Palma” Educational Institution in Lima, Peru. Configuring the study within the quantitative approach, descriptive and correlational, non-experimental and transversal design. The sample was intentional, being represented by 113 fifth-year students. Two questionnaires were applied to study the variable social skills and conflict resolution. The results indicated that the social skills identified in the students are moderately performed. Regarding conflict resolution, the students demonstrated moderately low behaviors, reflecting verbal and physical aggression in their interactions. Female students proved to be more empathetic, supportive, communicative, collaborative, and emotionally emotional. The male students stated that they were not very empathetic, supportive, communicative and emotional, with a moderate and high level of collaboration and security. Significant differences were evident in social skills and conflict resolution. It is shown that it is necessary to use strategies that allow the development of capacities to appropriately resolve conflict situations and the management of social skills that promote the construction of a culture of peace. |
