Omschrijving
Samenvatting:Financial inclusion seeks to ensure that all people or organizations, regardless of their economic situation or geographic location, have access to basic financial services. In this context, this study aims to analyze financial inclusion (FI) in artisanal businesses in the Montecristi canton, Ecuador, using the Findex Global Index as a reference framework. Surveys were conducted among local artisans to determine the penetration and use of various financial services, such as savings accounts, digital means of collection and payment, credit and insurance. The results show a high rate of savings account ownership, which suggests good penetration of these basic services; However, low utilization of insurance and credit was identified, indicating a significant gap in financial protection and access to formal financing. The perception of artisans about the importance of transactionality and savings products highlights the need to improve financial education and infrastructure to optimize the use of these services.
