Surveys were conducted among local artisans to determine the penetration and use of various financial services, such as savings accounts, digital means of collection and payment, credit and insurance. The results show a high rate of savings account ownership, which suggests good penetration of these basic services; However, low utilization of insurance and credit was identified, indicating a significant gap in financial protection and access to formal financing. The perception of artisans about the importance of transactionality and savings products highlights the need to improve financial education and infrastructure to optimize the use of these services. |

En este contexto, este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar la inclusión financiera (IF) en los negocios artesanales del cantón Montecristi, Ecuador, utilizando el Índice Global Findex como marco de referencia. Se realizaron encuestas a los artesanos locales para determinar la penetración y el uso de diversos servicios financieros, tales como cuentas de ahorro, medios digitales de cobro y pago, créditos y seguros. Los resultados muestran una alta tasa de posesión de cuentas de ahorro, lo que sugiere una buena penetración de estos servicios básicos; sin embargo, se identificó una baja utilización de seguros y créditos, indicando una brecha significativa en la protección financiera y el acceso a financiamiento formal.
