Summary:This work examines the impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the university environment. Highlighting its transformative capacity, the urgency of strategic adaptations in higher education is emphasized. ICT has not only redesigned university pedagogy, but has also democratized access to knowledge and fostered more agile, personalized and interactive educational approaches for the 21st century student. Through a theoretical review, it is highlighted how these technologies have reconfigured the global educational landscape and the evolving role of the teacher in this new technological scenario is highlighted. In the midst of constant technological evolution, the imperative challenge faced by institutions of staying at the forefront to ensure a relevant and updated educational offering is highlighted.
