Yhteenveto:Curriculum design emerges as an essential element for academic advancement and research in education, providing a crucial framework for educating professionals who are not only competent and ethical, but also dedicated to social well-being. The objective of this study is to analyze the contribution of the Medicine degree curriculum at the San Gregorio de Portoviejo University (USGP) to academic development and educational research. The methodology used was based on a qualitative and descriptive approach. To compile the information and experiences presented, a critical review of the USGP Medical Career Study Plan was carried out, also using the available documentation and the studies on the topic of curricular design included after the bibliographic review. It is evident that this curriculum constitutes an innovative educational model that promotes the training of future professionals in medicine and public health. The program adheres to the global standards of the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) and is designed to foster active and adaptive learning, integrating research on a continuous basis. It is necessary to continue evolving to maintain the commitment to educational excellence and respond to the changing needs of society.
