HACIA UNA NUEVA CONCIENCIA DE LA CIENCIA DESDE LA REALIDAD LATINOAMERICANA

TOWARDS A NEW CONSCIOUSNESS OF SCIENCE FROM THE LATIN AMERICAN REALITY   RESUMEN Una mirada a los cambios ocurridos en los últimos años en Latinoamérica muestra una creciente sensibilización acerca del papel de la ciencia para el potenciamiento de las naciones, y la consecuente necesidad de mejorar las actitudes sociales respecto a la misma  y el nivel de cultura científica entre la población general. Por ello, el desarrollo de políticas e iniciativas científicas, culturales, de educación universitaria, entre otras, deberán tener en cuenta los contextos locales y la visión de futuro que se quiera construir para el logro de sociedades más justas e inclusivas. Razón por la cual, este escrito, producto de un ejercicio hermenéutico, tiene como propósito presentar unas reflexiones, que paralelamente fomenten el debate y el diálogo colectiva, para impulsar otra idea de ciencia que permita alcanzar un nuevo horizonte donde germine una sociedad en la que nos comprometamos de manera colectiva. Esto exige la emergencia de una nueva conciencia que sitúe el conocimiento y el saber de tal forma que el conjunto de los ciudadanos accedan a ellos como factores centrales del desarrollo humano. ABSTRACT A look at the changes that have taken place in recent years in Latin America shows a growing awareness of the role of science for the empowerment of nations, and the consequent need to improve social attitudes towards science and the level of scientific culture between the general population. Therefore, the development of scientific, cultural and university education policies and initiatives, among others, should take into account the local contexts and the vision of the future that one wants to construct for the achievement of more just and inclusive societies. Reason why this writing, the product of a hermeneutic exercise, is intended to present some reflections, which in parallel encourage debate and collective dialogue, to promote another idea of science that allows us to reach a new horizon where a society in which we engage collectively. This requires the emergence of a new consciousness that places knowledge and knowledge in such a way that all citizens access to them as central factors of human development.
