Propuesta Preliminar para la Construcción de un Modelo de Gestión de la Tecnología e Innovación en las Instituciones de Educación Superior Ecuatorianas

Ecuadorian Institutions of Higher Education (IESE by its acronym in Spanish) are currently in a process of accreditation and categorization. The new institutions generated from the Organic Law on Higher Education (LOES by its acronym in Spanish) are pursuing a very close academic and administrative performance control of the IESE. One of the most critical issues is that related to the low production in quality and quantity of university scientific products. The purpose of this article is to make a preliminary proposal for the construction of a model of Technology Management and Innovation (GTI by its acronym in Spanish) at IESE. The method used was structured based on the research plan, according to the spirit of the research. The main symptoms and causes that drive the development of the research problem are presented, reviewing at the same time the theoretical contributions on GTI as well as the historical evolution of innovation in IESE. The research plan also includes: scientific problem, research questions, objectives, hypothesis, variables, justifications, methodology and preliminary theoretical framework. Finally, the results expected and the beneficiaries that can use the research outlined here are made clear.
