This difficulty has serious repercussions both for public awareness raising and for public policy design and civil society activism and advocacy on the issue. In this work, I examine the importance and complexity of counting with data (official and unofficial) about violent deaths of women related to gender. Taking previous studies about public information and official documents as a starting point, I briefly review data available from State sources, indicating gaps, weaknesses, and strengths. I conclude with recommendations for official data records and future lines of research. |
