Effect of the deficit irrigation through sprinkler irrigation on the yield of grass Cynodon dactylon

The objective of this work was to evaluate the deficit irrigation on the grass Cynodon dactylon. Four irrigation levels were studied according to the Etc of the crop: 120, 100, 80 and 60% of the daily Etc. The field experiment was carried out in a stablished plot of star grass. The irrigation system...

Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:The objective of this work was to evaluate the deficit irrigation on the grass Cynodon dactylon. Four irrigation levels were studied according to the Etc of the crop: 120, 100, 80 and 60% of the daily Etc. The field experiment was carried out in a stablished plot of star grass. The irrigation system was sprinkle cannon with a flow rate of 25 m3/h, the irrigated area was 42 x 42m. Biomass (kg.m2), dry matter (%), protein (%), water consumption and the uniformity coefficient ratio were evaluated. Results show increase of biomass depending on the irrigation level (p<0,001), Etc 120% showed the highest yield 0,94 kg.m2. Dry matter (MS) was significant for the same treatment at 28 days showing an average of 32,71%. Protein did not vary according to the irrigation level being similar among treatments. Water consumption decreased in accordance to the irrigation level 78,49 and 39,24 mm (120 y 60% respectively) during the cycle of the crop. Nevertheless, efficiency of the use of water showed a reverse behavior due to reduction on irrigation levels increase the efficiency of the use of water. The sprinkler system showed a uniformity coefficient ratio of 75,5%. Star grass yield is linked to the irrigation level, therefore, deficit irrigation application cause yield decrease.
