Özet:The objective of this research was to determine the effect of shrimp cephalothorax meal on the productive performance in early stage Cobb-500 broiler chickens. Shrimp cephalothorax was used to obtain flour with an extraction of 37%, particle size of 1.5-3 mm and negative for Salmonella. The treatments (inclusion of 38, 40 and 42%) of shrimp cephalothorax flour underwent proximal analysis: moisture, fiber, ash and protein. The biological test was carried out with 45 Broiler Cobb-500 chickens, one day old, fed for 10 days with the four treatments with the inclusion levels of shrimp cephalothorax meal. The feed conversion was evaluated experimentally by means of the equation conversion factor = consumed feed, in g / weight live chicken, in g. The moisture content (13%), protein (20%) were within the allowed limit, the ash content (5%) and fiber (8%) exceeded the maximum allowed limit. The count of CFU / g of aerobic mesophiles did not exceed the allowed limits (1.2 x 103) CFU / g according to the Ecuadorian regulations. The treatments (inclusion of 38, 40 and 42%) had an effect on the feed conversion of the birds with values of 1.81; 1.82 and 1.83, respectively. It is concluded that the inclusion of 38% of shrimp cephalothorax flour efficiently influences the productive behavior of Cobb-500 broiler chickens.
