סיכום:This study aimed at evaluating the effect of microbial biopreparations on accelerating the composting process of organic wastes generated at the Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí University. We used 170 kg wooden boxes with the starting material, which was inoculated with composting accelerators in three treatment combinations: T1, control (without inoculation); T2, Commercial EM and T3, native microorganisms. The inoculation was sprayed at the start of the composting process, which lasted eight weeks. During this period, we monitored pH, moisture content and temperature. At the end of the process, we carried out physical and chemical analysis, and phytotoxicity tests using cow pea seeds (Vigna unguiculata). The results showed that temperature, pH and moisture content did not vary significantly. However, compost stability and ripeness indicators (C/N, MO, N, P), microelements and the seed germination index were most favorable with the compost that was inoculated with native microorganisms, reaching optimum levels in accordance with the Colombian 5187 Technical Standard. The results showed that the inoculation was efficient in the composting process, and the resulting product can be used as an agricultural input.
