The results showed that the highest concentration of the extracts (0,1%) of both fruits formed inhibition zones of larger diameter. The bacteria were more resistant to orange extracts compared to passion fruit extracts, with complete inhibition at 24 and 6 h, respectively. On the other hand, the complete inhibition of the fungi was after 4 hours of action of extracts of the two fruits.

On the other hand, the complete inhibition of the fungi was after 4 hours of action of extracts of the two fruits.En el presente trabajo se estudió el poder inhibitorio de los extractos alcohólicos de los subproductos agroindustriales de naranja y maracuyá frente a cuatro bacterias: Listeria monocytogenes, Streptococcus mutans, Salmonella spp., Escherichia coli y dos hongos: Penicillium sp, y Rhizopus spp. Para ello, los extractos alcohólicos del epicarpio-albedo de maracuyá y del exocarpo-mesocarpio de la naranja en concentraciones de 0,05 y 0,1% se aplicaron a cepas de los seis microorganismos y se determinó la zona de inhibición y la curva de crecimiento durante 24 h. Los resultados mostraron que la mayor concentración de los extractos (0,1%) de ambas frutas formó zonas de inhibición de mayor diámetro. Las bacterias fueron más resistentes a los extractos de la naranja en comparación con los de maracuyá, con inhibiciones completas a las 24 y 6 h, respectivamente.
