Positive to Bengal Rose 332 (6.77%) and indirect ELISA 164 (3.34%) animals, 282 (5.75%) animals were sacrificed from the total positives. The sampling was carried out by AGROCALIDAD in the areas where the producers had indications of the disease and in addition collections were made on farms to be certified as free from Brucellosis. With the National Bovine Brucellosis Program of eradication in the country, favorable results have been presented in the fall of the disease in the year 2012 the prevalence rate was 36.63% compared to the year 2016 of 2.4%. |

El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la prevalencia de brucelosis bovina en la provincia de Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. Este proyecto se realizó entre enero de 2012 a diciembre 2016 para lo cual se tomaron muestras a 4903 bovinos. Se emplearon las técnicas de aglutinación rápida en placa de Rosa Bengala y ELISA. Siendo positivas a Rosa de Bengala 332 (6,77%) y a ELISA indirecta 164 (3,34%) animales, se sacrificaron 282 (5,75%) animales del total de positivos. El muestreo lo realizó AGROCALIDAD en las zonas que los productores presentaban indicios de la enfermedad y además se realizaron colectas en predios para certificarse como libres de Brucelosis.
