Descripción
Summary:Diaphorina citri (Hemiptera: Liviidae), also known as the Asian citrus psyllid, is regarded as a prominent pest in world citriculture because it is a vector for bacterium “Candidatus Liberibacter”, a causative agent of the “Huanglongbing” disease, which has lethal effects on plants of the Rutaceae family. In this paper, we report on the presence of D. citri affecting Murraya spp, a bush of the Rutaceae family, in an urban area of Portoviejo. This is the first report about the pest in the province of Manabi-Ecuador.
